Notes
From Walton, Leone Patterson, ed. The Four “F’s” of Moline, Texas: Facts, Folks, Fun, Failure (no place given: L.P. Patterson Walton, 1980):
ADAMS, John Clements, Sr. (Clem) (November 24, 1886-October 30, 1973 ) was born in Springplace, Georgia. He was the son of George Washington and Bennie Waddell Adams. The Adams family came to Texas in 1901. Clem married Lena Laura Cook (February 17, 1895-February 24, 1977) of the Moline vicinity on September 16, 1917 in Goldthwaite, Texas. This good couple lived all their lives near Moline–Lena being born here and Clem moving here in 1901.
Lena was very helpful in furnishing early day facts of Moline before her death in 1977. She had asked for me to visit her many times before I found the opportunity. But when she was in the Heritage Nursing home in 1976, I spent every Thursday afternoon with her for several weeks, and we are blessed to have clear and accurate inmost recesses of her memory. At this time she was the oldest Moline Citizen. I wish she could have lived to enjoy this collection of events. Lena and Clem and their children were loved and appreciated by the Patterson family. They were good neighbors and citizens of this community. Clem served in France during World War I.
John Clements and Lena Laura Adams’ family consists of:

- William Alton (Billie) (October 12, 1923-July 18, 1979) married Mary Lee Wilder on March 4, 1953 in Brady, Texas. They had no children.
- James Otis and Bobbie Duncan were married November 15, 1947 in Lampasas, Texas. Their children are Pamela F., Terry R., and Paula D.
- Frank Wendell married Johnny Comer. Their children are Jay F. and Tammy Jan. Frankie and Johnnie own the “home place” at Moline (1980).
