Topping It Off

^ New roof finished on May 27, 2021

Arturo and his crew from A-Z Roofing in Lampasas finished our standing seam roof on Thursday, May 27, yet the process started much earlier. I couldn’t get up on top of the scaffolding quick enough to snap this picture (to the left) on March 27, 2021, shortly after our contractor removed the schoolhouse’s original roof. This bird’s eye perspective shows a mostly-empty space, save the teacher’s stage on the far east and an island of flooring supporting my grandmother’s upright piano. Ceiling drywall work commenced on July 20, 2021.

  1. I’m certain there are 1500 different real good reasons why this had to be renovated, but I’m ole school, pun intended, and I just wanted it to stay exactly the way it was forever and ever and ever..

    1. Yes, there were many reasons for renovating it. Actually, I might say saving it. I hope we’ve been able to honor the original structure as much as possible while making it a habitable.
