Graveside services were held Monday, October 15, 1984 at 2:00 P.M. for Mrs. Vergie Duncan of Hobbs, New Mexico. The service was held at the Payne Gap Cemetery with Rev. Doug Holtzclaw officiating. Wilkins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She passed away Thursday, October 11, 1984. She was 87 years of age.
She was born December 6, 1896 in Mills County, Texas. Her parents were Levi G. Hunt and Mary Evelyn Jenkins.
She married Henry T. Duncan in 1915. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1949. Her church affiliation was Baptist. She was a residence of Hobbs, New Mexico for thirty years.
Survivors include two sons. L.A. Duncan of Hobbs, New Mexico and C.W. [(Coyle Wilburn] Duncan [1926-1997] of Rapid City, South Dakota; one daughter, Mrs. Gloy McMurry of Hobbs, New Mexico: two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Duncan and Mrs. Bill Duncan, both of Mills County; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
