Kyle was born in Goldthwaite, Texas, and according to the 1920 census, when Kyle was six years old, the family lived near the Arthur H. Hunt, Jessie Taylor, Richard Barton, and Alva Clary families in the Payne Gap area. By the 1930 census, he was living in Daisetta, Liberty County, Texas. Kyle was a retired oil field worker living in Lometa, Texas, at the time of his death. An autopsy ruled that he died of natural causes.
