Johnnie Lee Comer Adams, 92, of Moline, Texas went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018.
She was born to John Mullins Comer and Lela Lee Anderson Comer on Feb. 22, 1926 in Scurry County, Texas. After her father’s passing, her mother married Fred Hall, who raised Johnnie and whom she loved dearly.
Johnnie married her husband Frank W. Adams on Feb. 24, 1956 in San Saba, Texas. They were happily married for 60 years.
Johnnie worked as a telephone operator for 24 years. After retiring, she and Frank moved to the farm in Moline where they raised sheep. She will be remembered as a loving woman of many talents.
She enjoyed playing sports with her family, fishing, helping her husband with the farm, gardening, cooking, painting, quilting, singing, writing music, and tooling leather. Johnnie was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Lampasas. Above all Johnnie loved her Lord and Savior, and was a faithful servant to the end.
Survivors include her daughter Tammy and spouse Gordon of Moline; brother Gordon Hall and Vickie of Colbert, WA; sister Grace Forrester of Granite Shoals; five grandchildren: Landon Dyer and Deanna, Christie McClain and Joshua, Erin Lassiter and fiancée Chad Kennedy, Mattie Byler and Matt, Callie Adams and fiancée Matthew Vaughters; five great-grandchildren: Jayton Byler, Wyatt and Abigail McClain, Joanie Dyer and Lily Vaughters; several nieces and nephews, and others dear to her including Frankie and Kim Mann, and her cousin Gary Linn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank W. Adams,her parents, John Mullins Comer & Lela Comer Hall, her step-father Fred Hall; her son and his wife, Jay Frank & Wanda Adams, her twin sister Frankie Comer, four brothers, Tommy, Raymond, Jim, and Warren Hall; two sisters in laws, Rae and Kathey, one brother-in-law, Ray Forrester.
Services were held Friday, Aug. 24 at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel in Goldthwaite. Elder Joshua McClain officiated. Interment was in Payne Gap Cemetery. Matt Byler, Terry Adams, Gerald Adams, Scott Douglas, Kim Mann, Chad Kennedy and Jeff Runyon served as pallbearers.
