Henry was a farmer all his life. Death was from an automobile accident. Henry drowned in an submerged automobile in Cow House River, Coryell County. He was carrying a large sum of money, and the family has always thought it was foul play.

He lived in Mills County, near Payne Gap, most of his life. The 1940 Census shows him living in San Saba, Street: San Saba – Bend Road. 1942 WWII Draft Registration shows living in Bend, Texas.
