Daniel was born in Turnersville, Texas, Coryell County, on December 17, 1895, to John Thomas Campbell (1869-1929) and Millie A. [Temple] Campbell (1872-1948). By 1900, he was living with his family in Lampasas, Texas. His WWI draft registration reveals he was living in Star, Texas, in 1917. He died at age twenty-two from pneumonia/flu on October 28, 1918, in Star.
