Notes
C.D. (Colonel Decatur) was born on March 15, 1840, in Choctaw County, Mississippi, to Elijah Parker (1797-1850) and Mary [McKnight] Parker (1807-1850). He married Nancy Alexander Sanders (1847-1913), who was born in Muscogee County, Georgia, on September 16, 1865, in Ellis County, Texas. The couple lived in Leon County, Texas in 1860; in Milam, Texas, in 1880; and in Mills County in 1900. In Mills County, according to the 1900 U.S. Census, the family lived near the W.T. Carswell and the John Cook and John T. Cook families, likely in the Moline area. The couple had six children. C.D. is the only member of the family buried at the Payne Gap Cemetery.
