Arthur’s parents were Adolph Peter Simon (1851-1923) and Rovenia Josephine [Brown] Simon (1855-1912). Arthur’s father was living in Indianola, Texas, in 1860, and by 1880 was living in Cuero, DeWitt County, Texas, where he worked as a blacksmith. He and his wife married on October 22, 1874, in Gonzales County, Texas. In 1900, the couple was living in Evant, Texas, where Arthur was likely born. By 1910, the family had moved to Stanford, Texas, where both parents died. Both are buried at the Highland Cemetery there. Several other of the Simons’ children are buried at the cemetery as well.
