Robert Altenloh, Newspaperman
DENTON – Robert Altenloh of Denton, a former columnist for two West Texas newspapers, died April 20 at a Fort Worth hospital of natural causes. He was 72. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. today at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Chapel in Goldthwaite. Goen-Hudgens Funeral Home in Denton is in charge of local arrangements. Mr. Altenloh was born in Chicago. He was a graduate of the University of Chicago and Chicago Music College [not correct according to Dan Altenloh]. He wrote under the pen name of Moline Menace. He worked for newspapers in Goldthwaite and Brownwood. Survivors: Wife, Shirley Altenloh of Denton; four sons, Robert Altenloh of San Diego, William Altenloh of Houston, Scott Altenloh of San Francisco and Daniel Altenloh of Garland; and six grandchildren.
